While many are at home cerebrating this Christmas holiday, I know there are also many who are home alone broken and hurting. Wherever you are this Christmas Day, know that you have a Savior who loves you more than you can imagine.

On Tuesday, I will be cerebrating 51 years. Wow! I will now be over a half a century old now (my sweet daughter reminded me on my birthday last year that I was 1/2 a century old). While I know I am getting older, each year I have a birthday, I am thankful that God has given me another year of life. Because I have had a spouse die at a young age, I do know how precious life is and that every day really is a gift.

Last week, I challenged you to knit a gift and give it to someone that makes a difference in your every day life. I wasn’t sure who I was going to give my last praying hands washcloth to you, but God knew.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”—John 3:16

While this is a memory verse most people know that grew up in the church, it may not be one that every person reading this blog has memorized.

Every day we have the opportunity to wake up and say, “Today I am going to live my life differently.” 

Everyone has some kind of history. Some are better or worse than others. Many people reading this may not have had the best childhood, others have had to deal with health issues, broken marriages or relationships. Whatever your hurt or heartache was or is, you have a choice on how you are going to look at life.

Because of my daughter’s thyroid cancer diagnosis last month, I was obsessed with spreading the word about it. This month making Knitted Knockers for people going through breast cancer was laid on my heart. I would be remiss to not have a breast cancer survivor blog this month. I welcome Debbie Zanella, a sister in Christ, whom I am also able to call one of my best friends. Thank You, Debbie for sharing what breast cancer taught you about Jesus.❤️

Psalm 90 and how we manage our time was the focus of one of the church sermons last month at Cross Timbers Community Church. When verse 12 flashed across the screen, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom,” I looked up the New Living Translation of it. “Teach us the brevity of life…”
