I was planning on talking about our hearts for all of February but something happened this past week that I wanted to share. I think it is easy in the midst of our every day life to miss God’s love for us. 

“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”—Psalm 119:11

Since heart disease runs in my family and February is “Heart Health Month,” I feel led to talk about our hearts this month…both our physical and our spiritual. 

Two years ago, I bought 6 jumbo skeins of Bernat Blanket yarn with the intent of making a cabled blanket for my living room.

Just as God commanded Joshua to be strong and courageous and not be fearful or discouraged because He was with him wherever he went, the same is true for you and me.

Because Texas has had some pretty cold weather this week, I thought that I would make a hat to give way this month. I decided to do one that has a 1x1 twisted rib stitch. I made one similar to it last year, so thought I would be able to recall how to do it. It’s not a hard stitch, but when I read the pattern and did what I “thought” was the right stitch, I was obviously not doing it correctly

Last year the pastor at my church suggested that rather than make a New Years Resolution, that we choose one word for the year that would challenge us. For 2017, I picked the word, “Trust.”

While many are at home cerebrating this Christmas holiday, I know there are also many who are home alone broken and hurting. Wherever you are this Christmas Day, know that you have a Savior who loves you more than you can imagine.

On Tuesday, I will be cerebrating 51 years. Wow! I will now be over a half a century old now (my sweet daughter reminded me on my birthday last year that I was 1/2 a century old). While I know I am getting older, each year I have a birthday, I am thankful that God has given me another year of life. Because I have had a spouse die at a young age, I do know how precious life is and that every day really is a gift.

Last week, I challenged you to knit a gift and give it to someone that makes a difference in your every day life. I wasn’t sure who I was going to give my last praying hands washcloth to you, but God knew.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”—John 3:16

While this is a memory verse most people know that grew up in the church, it may not be one that every person reading this blog has memorized.
