“Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in your midst?”—1 Corinthians 3:16

In Mark Batterson’s, Draw the Circle the 40 Day Prayer Challenge, he talks about how where we stand is holy ground. He references Exodus 3:5 where Moses is told by God to take off his sandals because he is standing on holy ground while talking to God.

Mark goes on to say that when he writes that he takes off his shoes. I thought, “I never thought of writing for God that way.” So, thank you, Mark Batterson, I am now doing my writing shoeless. It is a good reminder for me to keep in perspective that what flows out of my hands is not to be taken lightly.

What a way to change how I think. As a Christian, my body is a temple of God because the Holy Spirit lives within me. No matter where I go, God is with me. I am not alone. What a reassurance that is for me and should be for you too.

One of my favorite songs is by Tauren Wells called, Hills and Valleys. “When I'm standing on the mountain, I didn’t get there on my own.When I'm walking through the valley, I Know I am not alone! You're God of the hills and valleys…” No matter what you or I are going through today, God is with us. He will get us through that valley and up that hill. 

During this knitting and writing process, I have felt God’s presence. I do know He is with me, because this isn’t something I can do on my own….at least not successfully. I can do anything on my own, but if God’s not in it, it doesn’t freely flow. Is there anything in your life where you are having a hard time giving God the steering wheel? If so, try releasing your grip and see what happens. Letting go may be scary, but hold fast to Psalm 56:3 by putting your trust in God, despite your fears. God is with you.

Dear Lord, 

     Thank You that You are with me through the hills and valleys. I praise You that when You are in it, I get through it. Without Your supernatural guidance, I am at a loss at what gifts I should knit and give to people that need them the most. I ask that You continue to be with me each day and lead me to someone that needs to be reminded of Your love for them. It is in the name of Jesus, that I pray these things. Amen.
