Sharing God's Word
“Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.”—Ephesians 6:19-20
Last week I shared that my word for 2019 is, “BOLD.” My church’s word is, “BETTER.” (great sermon, click here if you want to watch it) Our pastor discussed how life is “better” because we have our own Counselor that not only lives along side of us but also in us. Because of this, we have the ability to be difference makers in God’s Kingdom.
How can I incorporate, “bold,” and “better into my life for this upcoming year? I know that by being more fearless in my faith that my life will be better because the only way I can do that is to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit within in me to speak through me.
I want to be braver when I give away my knitted gifts. I’d like to say every time I give away a gift that I let the person know I prayed over it and for them, but I don’t. Sometimes I get nervous and forget and other times, I am too uncomfortable to say it. Since I know this is a struggle for me, I know it must be for others as well, so I reworded the tags to put on your Knit, Pray Share item. I added,This gift was prayed over for you, as the first line of the tag.
For me, my prayer is to be able to verbally tell the person that I prayed for them and not for them to have to read it on the tag. I know doing this may cause some eye rolls or thoughts that, I am that “religious lady” every time they see me, but all I can hope and pray is that if something happens in their life where they need prayers, they will reach out to me. You never know what seeds you are planting or the ground you may be fertilizing when you share God’s Word with someone.
Do you believe that God has placed you exactly where you are so that you can make a difference? How is the Lord moving you to share His love? God isn’t asking you to change the world, just to change the corner in which you live. So, while it may be out of your comfort zone to let someone know that you prayed over your hand knit/crochet item, as a Christian it is a privilege to be able to give to others in the name of Jesus.
Dear Lord,
You have called me to be an ambassador for You. Because I have the power of the Holy Spirit within me, I know that You will give me the words to say to those that need to hear Your Word and Your love for them. Give me the courage to be bolder in letting others know that I have prayed for them. Help me to be a difference maker by planting seeds that will lead others to You. I thank You and praise You that You are able to use someone like me to make a difference in my corner of the world. I pray these things in Your Precious Son’s name, Jesus. Amen.
If you are knitting gifts to give away to those in your sphere of influence to let them know they matter, attach a tag to your gift.
