Sharing Kindness Wherever You Go

“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”—1 John 4:12

Last week I talked about God using our talents to bless those around us. If you are struggling with trying to figure out what they are, why not join me in my challenge to myself this week. Not only will I try to make a more conscious effort to be kind to those I come in contact with on a daily basis, but this week my goal is to find one nice thing to say to every person I interact with during my day. Whether it is when I am the phone talking to an insurance agent, checking out at the grocery store or speaking to a loved one, I will make sure I find one positive thing to say about them.

Maybe your God given gift is your pretty smile that you unknowingly give to strangers to let them know you notice them? With so many heads own on their phone, making these kind of connections is not a normal behavior in our society. It may not seem like much, but I know God can use me to be a light by making this small change in my daily routine.

I encourage you to try this for one day this week. Making eye contact with someone, smiling and letting someone know you appreciate something about them can change the trajectory of their day. On the surface this simple act may not appear to be a big deal, but think about how this act of kindness can outwardly display God’s love within in you. When you show favor to those around you, you will receive the same.

Dear Lord,

Help me to be a blessing to every person I interact with this week. Empower me to share Your love and let people know that they matter. I thank You for Your Word that tells me because You live in me, Your love is made complete in me. It is in the name of Jesus I pray these things. Amen.

Memory Verse

Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart.”—Proverbs 3:3 (NASB) It is a good reminder for me to bind God’s Word and kindness to my heart.
