God Provides

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”—Philippians 4:19

The past two weeks have definitely been a challenge. My normal routine has no doubt been interrupted. However, through it all, God has provided. With caring for my mother, did I get behind on my Bible reading plan? You bet I did, but God carved out time for me to get caught up on it. Have I been able to sit in my chair at my home every morning in silence and have my quiet time with the Lord? No, but each time I am in the car, I am able to sing praise and worship songs and at night I am able to spend some time talking to God about my day.

Despite having Matthew 6:34 ingrained in my head, Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own, in the evenings at bedtime or when I wake up in the middle of the night, it isn’t always easy to settle my mind.

If I wake up in the middle of the night not being able to still those thoughts, I start going through the alphabet listing the attributes for God from A to Z. This helps me put things back into perspective of who God is. He is Almighty, Burden Bearer, Caring, Divinely Intervenes…The next thing you know I am filled with peace and sometimes don’t even make it to Z before I am asleep again.

Going through a list of the Mighty King’s character is the reminder I need for all He has done and what He still doing for me. I have found myself doing this quite a bit the last few weeks. Not only did God provide an amazing staff taking care of my mother while she was at the hospital, but He also led us to a caregiving service to help give us some relief. The name that was recommended to us ended up being the same service that we used when my late mother-in-law was on hospice 5 years ago. With the amount of caregivers and services in our area, only God can do that.

As we get my mother used to having them in her home, both my sister-in-law and I will be able to get back to our daily routines as well as her. Other than my mom not being able to lift her right arm from her surgery, she is physically doing great. The caregivers can make sure she eats 3 good meals a day, help her shower/change as well as do things such as wash and dishes. I thank all of you who have been praying for her and ask for continued prayers.

Speaking of God providing, I pray every day for God to supply yarn for the knitting ministry. I had asked the mission team at our church if they could put some money in the 2023 budget for yarn. A few weeks ago, I got the news that they were not able to help us financially. Of course, I was disappointed. However, last week, I received a text message from the owner of Yarn and You Texas telling me someone had brought in 50-60 skeins of Red Heart yarn asking if our group could use it. Um….YES!!!! God provided! As we trust God to supply our needs, He will bless us. I give God a huge AMEN for supplying the needs of my mother, me and knitting ministry. Where do you need to trust God this week? “I pray that God will take care of all your needs with the wonderful blessings that come from Christ Jesus!”—Philippians 4:19 (CEV)

Father God,

Forgive me when I let the whispers of fear drown out Your Voice. I thank You that with You, I can have peace in the middle of life’s storms. I give You praise that You are able to redirect and replace my worries with Your wisdom, peace and strength. You are a God who provides for His children. I lift those up to You who are battling with the unknown. Lead them to scripture to comfort them and remind them that You are with them. I pray these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.

 February Verse:

“You, LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.”—Psalm 18:28
