“Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”—Matthew 28:20 (NLT)

Not only is God always with us, but according to Matthew 28:20, He is with us to the end of age. The book of Revelation is not an easy read. However, it gives us a glimpse of what is to come. It needs to be read so that we can be prepared for this time. Just as other Bible prophecies have been fulfilled, it will one day be too.

While many may hesitate to do a Bible Study on the Book of Revelations, it was not written to scare us but to prepare us. Last week I started one through Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). It is called, Revelation the Hope. With what is happening in our world, I cannot think of a more appropriate time to do this study.

For those of you who haven’t ever heard of BSF, please go to their website to learn more. https://www.bsfinternational.org In a nutshell, it is an international organization, where groups meet all over the world being taught the same lessons. You have a weekly lecture as well as 6 days of questions which you will discuss with your small group before going to lecture.

It has been several years since I have been a part of BSF, but what I can tell you is that I had the most growth in my faith walk from doing their studies. It really digs deep into God’s Word.

In January, I shared I was starting my 5th year of reading the Bible cover-to cover in a year. We wrap up the Old Testament October 1st. I think I may be putting a pause on that so that I can dedicate my time in this study of Revelation.

As I start this new study, The Hope it will do just that. We have the hope that one day Jesus will reign on this earth FOREVER. “And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang: “Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the one sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever.”—Revelation 5:13 (NLT)

The Bible tells us as we near the end of times it will become more terrifying. There will be wars, persecution, oppression and other types of destruction. We have to remember this time here is temporary. Nothing surprises God. He knows the end of the story. Nothing will derail His purpose. We can trust His character which never changes.

God’s plan is to one day restore all of creation. Heaven and earth will be recreated for us to dwell. People from EVERY nation will all be a part of His family. Christ has redeemed us. There is a future day where He will return and restore us to our eternal home. As we wait, we learn more about what God’s Word tells us, pray, serve and we share the Gospel.

Father God,

I praise You for Your grace and mercy to all believers who will have a place to be in eternity. Thank You for being the source of our strength, wisdom, encouragement, courage, endurance and most of all hope to sustain us during these challenging times. May You enlighten the minds of those who are studying the Book of Revelation. It is not an easy read but necessary for us to be prepared for the coming of Christ. I pray these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

 September Verse

“Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”—Proverbs 16:24
