“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”—Psalm 118:24
Psalm 118:24 is a scripture that is a great one to memorize. I think it is the perfect scripture to put on this month’s gift tag.
With April being stress awareness month, I think it is important for us to wake up every morning and say, “This is the day the Lord has made, let me rejoice and be glad in it.” Ideally, I like to say it before my feet hit the ground but that doesn’t always happen.
When death takes someone you love away at too young of an age, you realize how precious each day is. I know it is “cliche” to say, “Every day is a gift,” but it really is. I thank God every day that He has given me another day.
While it is sad that my first husband did not get to see what amazing children that he helped to create, I thank God every day that I have been able to experience it. In His rich grace and mercy, God blessed me with another man that has been able to be a part of our lives.
We don’t get to choose how God is going to use us, but I have personally seen how He has used my pain and turned it into a passion. While I no longer facilitate a grief support group for younger widows, I now minister through my hands and heart through this blog and my knitting.
My past grief gave me compassion for the broken and not just those that are dealing with the death of a loved one. My heart goes out to all hearts and heartaches now. Praise Jesus that He had been able to use a sinner like me to make peace with my past mistakes and regrets. Threads With Red, is an another opportunity for me and you to reach out to others to be a light in someone’s day.
Since April is stress awareness month, for those of us that knit or crochet, maybe we can teach someone our love for this hobby so that they too can stitch their stress away.
Dear Lord,
Thank You Lord for giving me another day on this earth. I know that nothing can defeat Your plans for me. Help me to rejoice in each day and be glad in it. Lead me to someone that needs to see a glimpse of Your light this week. It is in the mighty name of Jesus that I pray these things. Amen!
Will you join me this month in memorizing, “This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”—Psalm 118:24.
I have a few more gift cards and coffee tumblers to give away, so I will make a couple more coffee cup cozy’s to give as gifts this month.
