“You didn’t choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you. But remember the root command: Love one another.” —John 15:16-17 (MSG)
In John 15, Jesus calls us His friend. He makes known to us all He has learned, He has learned from His Father. According to the above scripture, Jesus has chosen us to bear lasting fruit. We are also told that if whatever we ask God for is going to show the love of Jesus that it will be given to us.
Knit, Pray, Share is a way God is using me to bear fruit. Before I write or knit, I am doing it in His name and asking for His guidance. Because of that, I have no doubt that God is going to bless my hands because I am doing this in the name of Jesus with the mission to love those around me.
I don’t want to mislead you either. God is not some magic genie that is going to answer whatever prayer I lift up to Him. If what I am asking Him is not going to bear fruit, He isn’t going to bless it. Blessings come from being obedient to His call for you.
God wants you to live out your destiny, however that may be….only you know where He is calling you. This week I have felt God impress on my heart that someone reading this post needs to be encouraged to step out in faith to do something that God is clearly asking them to do. If you are feeling that nudge as you read this, that’s God speaking to you. You don’t have to be a theologian to be used by God. All you need is a willing spirit that is open to God using you.
If you aren’t sure it is God’s will, ask Him to clearly open or shut doors for you. If the door stays open, then keep on walking. He will be with you on your journey. God promises to be with us wherever we go, so if God is prompting you do something big, don’t let that intimidate you!
I don’t know exactly how my book is going to unfold, but God does and that’s enough for me to trust and take another step. I encourage you to do the same.
Dear Lord,
Help me to be a good servant by obeying what You are calling me to do. I ask that I not let the fear of failing stop me from stepping out in faith to where you are leading me. I thank You for giving me a deep desire and the tools to be used by You to share the love of Jesus through my hands and my heart. I pray these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.
If you are memorizing, “For we live by faith, not by sight.”—2 Corinthians 5:7, How are you doing?
