“For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”—Ephesians 2:10
Don’t limit what God can do in and through you. More than likely you are going to be asked to step outside of your comfort zone for God to use you. My weak areas are where God can use me the most. It gives Him the opportunity to give me the strength that is needed. I have shared how I can let fear and worry occupy my mind, but when I focus on that I, limit what God can do through me.
I am humbled by how is using a non-professional knitter like me to put together basic knitting patterns along with inspirational nuggets with prayers to draw others closer to Christ. If you would have told me 10 years ago that at the age of 52 I would be writing a blog, and publishing Knit, Pray, Share, I would have laughed. That wasn’t even on my radar.
While I loved the Lord and wanted to share His grace, love and mercy, I didn’t feel qualified to do it. In hindsight, I can see how He needed to grow me in certain areas of my life before He could use me to fulfill this call. I knew I was supposed to write some kind of knitting book, but I thought it was going to be more of an entertaining one.
All God needed from me was a willing and obedient heart that was ready to fully trust Him to take care of me every step of the way. I am so thankful that God has been able to use my passion for wanting to share His love through writing and knitting.
The moral of my story is that it is never too late in life for God to use you to be a difference maker in His kingdom. “Yes,” He can use ordinary people like you and me to do extraordinary things in His name.
I could have let my fears paralyze me and God would have found someone else to complete the mission. Had I done that, I would have lived in regret when I saw a similar book, knowing that was something God had called me to do. I don’t want to have regrets, I want victories. Don’t you? Trust God on where He is leading you. He will bless you for your obedience.
Lord, I praise You that I am Your handiwork created in Christ Jesus to do good works that You have personally prepared in advance for me to do. I trust You to do great things with me exactly where I am. I thank You that You have divinely placed me to make a difference in my corner of the world. Continue to to give me boldness and confidence to do Your will. It is in the name of Jesus that I pray these things. Amen.
