“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:”—Ecclesiastes 4:9
Our church just wrapped a series called, Making a Difference. I couldn’t help but think of all of the ladies in my Knit, Pray, Crochet group who are doing just that. We are all on team Jesus working together for the common goal of sharing the love of Christ through our hands and heart with our handmade items.
What God laid on my heart many years ago, came to fruition with this group of ladies. On my own, I couldn’t have made near the number of items to donate in the name of Jesus.
Together, as a church family, we have done more than I could have ever imagined. Alone I would not have never had this kind of impact. Since our inception in 2021 we have made and donated a little over 5500 items. For 2024, it was 1100. In fact, I put together a video highlighting what we have done this year (click here to watch).
The 400 items we donated to a homeless shelter this past week, was perfectly timed for upcoming colder weather. The Thanksgiving Day forecast is 47/33°F. For Texas, that is cold weather. When We Love will now have something extra to give when they serve their meal. In addition to having warm food in their stomachs, they will also have a hat/scarf to warm their head.
I am so humbled that God has been able to use me to be a part of this. Because of this blog and my YouTube channel, other women have been inspired to start their own Knit, Pray, Crochet groups through their churches. Maybe one day a group will sprout up in another country.
Only God knows how me sharing what we are doing in our corner of the world will impact others. I can only pray that other Christian crafters will be inspired by what our group has been able to accomplish. What started with two people can have as many as 20 at one time. Two is indeed better than one.
God wants us to partner with Him for His purposes. Do you believe that? Do you have a desire to make this world a better place? If so, God can and will use you.
God sent His one and only Son to save ordinary people like you and me. He uses common people like us to make a difference in His kingdom. What can you do to plant the seeds of Jesus’ love for those that don’t know Him?
Father God,
Forgive me when I let self-doubt stop me from partnering with You. Help me to honor Your call for me. Only You can turn a hobby into a divine calling. I thank You for providing a supportive church, women, and resources to grow the ministry. I invite You into my day to make a difference in and through me. I lift those up to You who are letting fear of rejection keep them from stepping out in faith to where You are calling them. I ask for You to put someone in their life to partner with in their ministry. For as Your Word tells us in Ecclesiastes 4:9, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.” I pray these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.
