“Remember that as long as heaven and earth last, not the least point nor the smallest detail of the Law will be done away with--not until the end of all things.”—Matthew 5:18 (GNT)
Just because we are living in 2025 doesn’t mean the Bible’s standards have changed. It hasn’t been rewritten to go along with world views. While Jesus’ teachings tell us to love others and share His love with everyone, nowhere in the Bible does it state we should compromise the morals and values scriptures teaches us.
Prophesies in scripture tell us that all kingdoms will one day crumble, but one will stand in the end. I want myself and those I love to be a part of that kingdom, don’t you? Aren’t you thankful that He is giving us more time for redemption for those we love to find Christ? I know I am.
At the same token, I was convicted in writing this post. I also need to be careful to not lead others astray. People are observing me. Do they see the character of Christ in me? What kind of witness am I? What behavior do I model for others to follow? All things to be aware of so that I am not responsible for leading someone further from Jesus.
The lives we lead are examples to those who don’t know the Lord. We all have teachable moments. It may be with family, friends, coworkers, or strangers. The question is, will I recognize those moments?
While I may not have a stage or pulpit, I am writing this blog and have a small presence on social media as a way to share my faith and God’s truth. I will be the first to admit that I am an imperfect flawed person who doesn’t always get it right. I do my best and thank God for His grace and mercy when I don’t.
Many prefer to find a “gospel” that fits their lifestyle. Who wouldn’t want to find a church that makes them feel better about choices that may be unwise or sinful? Anyone can find a church that fits their own narrative of who they want God to be rather than who He really is.
This is not a time for us to be listening to watered down messages. Feelings will be hurt when God’s truths are revealed to them. Yes, it is true. There is only one way to Heaven and it is a narrow gate. “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way.14But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”—Matthew 7:13-14 (NLT)
We can’t only rely on church sermons, videos and podcasts to learn and know God’s Word. While they are all tools for us, we must study it on our own to know the truth and not depend on others to reveal it to us. We stay true to God’s unchanging standards for us. This is how we honor and model Jesus’ teachings.
Father God,
Forgive me when my thoughts, words or actions align more with the world than Your Word. Help me to recognize teachable moments to those who are lost. Thank You for giving the world more time to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. I lift up family and friends who don’t know You. Soften their hearts and open their eyes to Your love and forgiveness. May they let go of what is holding them back from opening their hearts and minds to Your truth. Continue to use me to share what Jesus has done and continues to do in my life. I pray these things in the might name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
